MENTAL HEALTH PROGRAMS
Treatment for Anxiety, Depression and Bipolar Disorder
Good mental health is key to reaching one’s potential and believing in one’s own abilities to cope with normal stresses of life. When our mental health becomes impaired through anxiety, depression and other mood disorders, it becomes increasingly difficult to manage normal life situations and quality of life begins to suffer. At times the symptoms become so chronic that one starts to isolate from others, and gradually withdraws from family, friends, and society. There may be an overwhelming sense of failure and hopelessness.
Our mental health program addresses these life issues and provides support for those who are experiencing a variety of mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, bipolar and other mood disorders. Our team approach provides comprehensive treatment that addresses stabilization, skill development and promotes general improvement in mood, attitude, and vitality.
Groups are curriculum based and offer step-by-step guidance on how to reduce symptoms and build personal wellbeing. Using an integrative approach, the program combines the benefits of cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic, and experiential therapies to give patients the foundation for a successful recovery. During the treatment process, patients will learn CBT, DBT, and stress management techniques. Additionally, patients learn mindfulness practices that improve interpersonal relationships and family communication.
Individual sessions with a therapist are included in the program and patients receive individual attention to their most problematic issues. Each session provides a private one-to-one experience where patients can work more intensely on treatment goals, and address those issues that seem too sensitive to initially share in the group. During individual therapy, patients have an opportunity to experience unconditional care and guidance from a therapist skilled in the recovery process.
Our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) offers up to 30 hours of services each week and provides a more structured treatment environment for those that can benefit from a highly focused program. Our PHP programs are customized for each patient to address their mood disorder and co-occurring issues.
The Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) offers up to 12 hours of services each week. Services include individual sessions with a therapist and group therapy three times weekly. For patients who may need nutritional guidance, a consultation with the dietitian is available and is recommended for those patients who are prescribed mood stabilization medications.
There are three phases of treatment. The first two phases of treatment are curriculum based and require a minimum of 8-weeks participation. These two phases focus on the treatment goals established by the patient and their treatment team, and learning skills for recovery. The last treatment phase focuses on relapse prevention and identifying recovery support in the community.
Family members are encouraged to participate in the treatment process at the request of the patient and may join the patient’s individual sessions with their therapist. These sessions are dedicated to building effective communication skills and mutual support.
